SCHOOL LUNCHES
As you have become aware, we have made changes to our school lunch program.
Effective July 2012, the USDA, the office that governs the nutrition requirements for school food service programs, mandated 72 new "rules" that directly impact what we serve, the amount of each item we serve and how often we must serve these items. While these changes continue to improve the nutrition for our children throughout the US – this is different than how we served our students in years past.
It is your food service team’s responsibility to ensure that the new nutritional requirements are in place. It is very important that we continue to communicate these changes and the positive impact they have on our students.

Our kids deserve a bright future!
Our schools can receive up to $10,000 in Target GiftCards® for books or any
supplies we need. Wouldn’t that be great? All we need to do is vote for our
school each week until September 8. For every 25 votes our school receives,
Target will send our school a $25 gift card. Visit the Give With Target® app at
Facebook.com/Target. And vote!
You can vote for only one school per week, so keep coming back!
Pass this information to all of your friends and family, especially those on Facebook!

Band Together 4 Music
Hi, My name is Ally Sussman and I am in the 7th grade band at MSJH. I am doing a service project to help more kids be in the band. My service project is called Band Together 4 Music and I need your help.
You can help give students the opportunity to join the band by donating to Band Together 4 Music (BT4M).
BT4M is collecting instruments to be used by students who cannot afford to buy or rent an instrument. If you have a band instrument that is not being used, please donate it. Instruments can be dropped off at the IGA, the Mahomet Public Library and the Music Shoppe in Champaign. All donated instruments become property of the Mahomet-Seymour Schools.
If you would like to help but you do not have an instrument, please donate money. The money collected is used to repair the donated instruments.
Since June 2011 eleven instruments have been donated, and money collected to repair eight of them.
If you are entering 5th grade next year and would like to join the band but cannot afford your own instrument, talk with Mr. Stevens and Mr. Barnish about the Band Together 4 Music program.
For more information about this program see my website: bandtogether4music.weebly.com
